So today has been a pretty relaxing yet boring day. My mom and sister left early this morning to be apart of the yearly church student beach camp, thus leaving me alone at home. As I sluggishly made my way up the stairs to my room, I decided I'd hop on the computer and finish some editing of Kutless and Chasen photos. Before I got started, however, my cousin's wife (Liz Kitchens) posted a link to her blog showing a rather interesting yet awesome post. The title of the blog is "FILM FRIDAY : It starts with my 26th Birthday". To better understand everything involved in Film Friday, I suggest you visit Liz's blog and learn what it's about there. In a nutshell, every week shoot one role of film and processed images are due every FRIDAY. Each applicant will post a proof sheet, and 1-3 images from the role. I really love this idea, especially since our culture is submerged in a digital world. As Liz states, there is nothing wrong with digital (all my shoots are digital) but with analog cameras you get a limited number of shots to capture what you want... It's also somewhere where you don't lose yourself in the editing process or constantly checking the pictures. When it's captured, there is no turning back.
I encourage people to join in this awesome project. Let's lose ourselves in our analog cameras and capture the beauty of the world we live in!
